Since the discovery of mysterious EGGs in VIMworld, a top priority has been to understand how spirit energy can be harnessed and sufficiently coalesced to hatch a Companion. On the island of Play in the Sea of Fun, Queen GrOwl and her flock have been working day and night to find a solution. After several unsuccessful trials with spirit-energy harnessing incubation equipment built using the unique metamaterials available on the island, a breakthrough was made. Comparative analysis of the hatching process of their own EGGs revealed a missing component: nurture. The spirit energy of the EGGs would not continue its companion development process without the dedicated and exclusive presence of a guiding VIM. As VIMs possess a powerful soul, that additional life-force energy is the secret to growing a successful companion.
Following a series of successful hatchings, GrOwl diligently attaches the following FAQ/notes when despatching Incubators for testing by the wider denizens of VIMworld:
- Do Incubators or VIMs affect the outcome of EGG hatching?
No, the current benefit of higher tier Incubators is purely in speed of incubation. Not to mention cool design features. Similarly, incubating an EGG with a Basic Incubator and a S6 VIM will be the same in terms of incubation time and Companion outcome possibilities as incubating with a Basic Incubator and a C-tier VIM.
- Can VIMs incubate more than one EGG at a time?
With our current generation of Incubators, VIMs can only pair with one Incubator and EGG at a time.
- Can Incubation be cancelled part of the way through?
Incubation can be cancelled, in which case you will lose one use of the Incubator, the EGG will return to its pre-incubation state, and you may have to pay a small fee.
- Are Incubators limited edition?
Incubators are not intended to be limited. That being said, our designers and engineers are always coming up with new ideas and designs. In the future, current Incubator models may be retired from sale in favour of new ones with different properties. For now, this is not planned.
- What happens when I have 0 uses left, can I add more to the Incubator?
Incubators are persistent and even with 0 uses left they will remain with you. You may add additional uses with either VEED or BNB (it doesn’t matter which was used for the original purchase). Uses for higher tier incubators cost more to add, but they offer significant advantages in speed.
- Will I be able to sell my Incubators in the Marketplace?
The ability to list and sell Incubators within VIMworld will be introduced in the future. You may already potentially list them on third-party NFT marketplaces. As ERC-721 NFTs on BSC, they are natively compatible with several.
- How long does incubation take?
You may refer to the VIMstudy to get the incubation time for each Incubator, you may also find the following chart useful. We are working on the S6-SX tier Incubators now, you may assume that they will follow the trendline of faster incubation across all EGG qualities.
