VIMfam! Christmas is almost here and we know you’re all anxiously counting down the days to when you can finally open your Boxes. But since we can’t all be gathered around the same tree opening them together, we’ve come up with the next best thing…The VIMworld Discord Unboxing Event.
In a chestnut-shell, we want to encourage everyone to record video of your unboxing (details below) and then upload those videos to Discord (more details below) so we can all revel in your Legendary glory or keep EGGing you on after pulling your eighth Common in a row. We want to hear your EGGcited squeals, screams, giggles, and groans and the best of the best Unboxing Videos will be duly rewarded. Now that we’ve exhausted all our puns, let’s get to the details.
RECORDING
The simplest way to capture your unboxing is to use your phone’s video camera to record you unboxing on desktop. You can also use your native desktop screen recording tool, or use a video conferencing app like Zoom or Google Meet to share your screen and record. If you want to take it up a notch to record picture in picture (i.e. the Boxes opening and video of your facial expressions, follow this tutorial to download and use the free version of OBS livestream software). We recommend recording each Box opening as a separate video to keep file sizes manageable.
ADD TO DISCORD
Now comes the fun part, where we all get to see what you and everyone else gets. To add your videos to Discord, double click the + in the message text box as shown below. There you can select the video files to add and away we go. The Max file size is 100MB so please be sure to record each unboxing separately. Once you Unbox, you can’t go back!
THE BEST
During the week of unboxing, we’ll pick our favorite videos AND reactions to share and those selected will be duly rewarded. We hope this brings the virtual-festive spirit of Joy, maybe a few tears, and plenty of HO HO HOs to all participants. We are all looking forward to having you Show Off What You Got!
