The meaning of $POWA phase II, let on-chain voting begin!
In our quest to define the meaning of $POWA in a DAO-like fashion, we received over 100 wild and wonderful submissions from the community.
Last week, to narrow down the options, we used Twitter votes to choose the most popular entry from each individual community member who submitted options.
We now have 30 final submissions, and will proceed to the blockchain vote.
A pivotal moment in the story of the $POWA token
Before we get to the details, we need to take a moment to reflect on the importance of this moment.
For the first time in VIMworld’s history, the community will be polled in an on-chain fashion. Those with the biggest stake in VIMworld through their commitment of time, effort, and $VEED tokens will correspondingly get a big say in the outcome, should they wish to voice it.
The name of a token sets the course for the future, and forms the first impression when new users and third-parties discover VIMworld for the first time. Therefore, everyone should think carefully about the name that they vote for.
Finally, in order for $POWA’s official meaning to be set as one of the community submissions, the community member whose meaning is chosen must agree to transfer any inherent intellectual property rights to the VIMworld Foundation. We are taking this very seriously.
How to participate in the voting process
To vote, send $POWA tokens to the address listed below next to the option you wish to vote for. The wallet with the most $POWA tokens at the end, subject to cooldown rules below, will win the vote.
The $POWA tokens sent in will be split up as follows:
Winner receives 30%
Top 5 voting wallets (amount of POWA) aside from the winner share 20%
40% gets burned
10% will be added to the Foundation reserve
The voting period will last at least 3 days. Starting time: 2000 UTC Monday 13th March, end time 2000 UTC Thursday 16th March.
There are no restrictions on the amount of $POWA you can use to vote.
The cooldown period
During the final 12 hours (“cooldown”), a lead-changing vote will extend the voting period for 12 hours until there are no more lead changes.
To change the lead in this cool-down period, the amount of tokens added to the address need to be at least 10% of the total received at that wallet.
