Web3 has been pretty tumultuous lately. It’s easy to lose hope when the seas of green have run red, when angry voices drown out happy ones, and the hubris of leaders no longer inspires.
We see this on full display following the market impact of $UST volatility. The cacophony of scandalous conspiracies, the character assassination attempts and the finger-pointing toxicity that currently surrounds LUNA’s founder- a leader whose vibrant personality can be credited for both its success and its downfall. With how quickly the tides change, it’s important to hold a timeless truth close to heart — “this too shall pass”. Instead of getting lost in noise and negativity, reflect on the importance of remaining grounded at all times and draw strength from it.
By now, the team at VIMworld have been around the block-chain more than a few times. We’ve been in this space long enough to remember the highs and lows of the 2017 Bull Market, the rise and fall of the ICO craze, “bitconneeeeeeeect!”, and the cold, dark days of the 2018–2020 bear market. We also remember how it felt when the sun finally rose again for NFTs and Crypto. Regardless, throughout it all we were busy innovating and lighting our own way through the darkness. It’s safe to say we know a thing or three about weathering crypto storms.
We’ve learned that tough times are a test of resilience and good times are a test of humility, but they’re fleeting moments all the same. Having a strong sense of purpose is what mattered most and what helped us plow on, course unwavering, whatever the market threw at us. We started this web3 journey for good reasons, and we intend to see it through no matter which way the winds are blowing. We know that trailblazing is filled with unexpected setbacks and that sometimes, the only way forward is to retreat and find a better direction. These revelations require humility and quiet introspection. Not everyone can succeed at this, and often, the louder they are, the harder they’ll fail.
The Metaverse giveth, and the Metaverse taketh away. This is why the best leaders understand that it’s just as important to stay humble when riding cloud nine as it is to stay hopeful when scraping rock-bottom. While this week might seem like a great time to join the finger-pointing brigades and assign blame, we should instead remember that this too shall pass. Better days will inevitably come, so focus on finding purpose and practicing humility for when those better days also pass.
This space rewards those who are resilient enough to make it to sunrise and humble enough to appreciate it while it lasts.
