VIMworld 3.1 and the VIMworld portal for BNB Smart Chain (BSC) projects are now live. This means that you can begin transforming BSC NFTs into SmartNFTs in VIMworld. Everyone no doubt has questions about this process, and here we will answer the most common ones. Which collections can enter the portal?
In the first launch of the portal, only BSC NFTs will be eligible. Furthermore, only collections ‘Smartified’ by VIMworld will be able to transform. VIMworld has introduced this Smartification step to ensure that only suitable collections can participate. Although our requirements are flexible, for example 1 of 1 NFT contracts are generally considered unsuitable. Each collection is considered on a case-by-case basis by our team. Certain collections can additionally be “Verified” at the discretion of our team. You can peruse the collections that are currently Smartified at https://vimworld.org/vimstudy/smartified.
How can a collection become Smartified on VIMworld?
There are multiple routes to becoming Smartified. Our team has been scouring the BSC NFT space for the best projects, and a selection of these will be available at launch. In other cases, communications and partnerships between our teams have resulted in Smartification. For Smartification of new projects, there are several potential routes. We have provided a Google Form on the portal page, where either collection creators, leaders or community members can reach out to get our attention. Our community administrators’ DMs are also open to hear about collaboration opportunities. If you have NFTs from a collection that you wish to see Smartified, you may also vote by clicking on them in your MyNFTs selection. Getting 20 community votes this way is a sure way to get our attention on a collection! If you have BSC NFTs that do not show up at all in your NFTs section, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Does the portal do anything to my NFT?
For BSC projects, the portal has absolutely no effect on the NFT. It is simply registered with VIMworld. Ethereum NFTs make use of a bridge to enter VIMworld, read more below.
How do I activate my BNB Smart Chain NFT via the portal?
In your My NFTs section, you will now find both a section for your Smart NFTs (VIMs) and NFTs (non-activated NFTs). By clicking on one, you will discover if it is Smartified. If it is not Smartified, you will see a button saying ‘Tell me more’, clicking this button will bring you to the portal. Underneath the portal, you will see a button called ‘Activate SmartNFT’. Click this and you will be asked to sign a transaction. Sign with your wallet, wait confirmation, and congratulations, your NFT is now a SmartNFT! You can continue to enjoy any previous benefits, and may also join in with VIMworld activities.
How do I activate my Ethereum NFT via the portal?
The process for activating ETH NFTs is similar to the BSC process, with the additional step of bridging your token. This feature will be released soon.
How does VIMworld’s ETH <-> BSC NFT bridge work?
The bridge has not been launched yet. It works like this: tokens on Ethereum are held in a smart contract, and a new representative token is minted on BSC. Only the owner of the BSC token may release the NFT on Ethereum. The BSC NFT functions as a VIM in VIMworld, and may be traded on our marketplace.
